Thanksgiving Recipe Problems + Recipe Reveiw

Im sorry I didn't follow through with my Thanksgiving deserts posts, but there were some technical difficulties, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. So, I'll be posting some cool Christmas and Hannukah recipes here and there, but usually I'll just be posting regular posts, not every day. Thanks for understanding! If you have any recipes that you would like me to reveiw or make please comment a link or type the recipe below!
I will be reviewing this recipe that I did with my Girl Scout troop (unfortunately not gluten free, but you can make it gluten free. Comment your changes below!):
This is just a recipe from our local newspaper, York Daily Record, by Anna Walsh.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

You Will Need:

1 1/4 cups cups granulated sugar + an additional 1/2 cup (separated)
1 stick of butter, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease baking sheets with butter. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and 1 1/4 cups of sugar on medium speed until creamy (about 3 minutes). Add one egg and beat until blended.add vanilla and second egg and beat until blended. In another bowl, using a wisk, stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Slowly add butter mixture to flour mixture and beat until just blended.put the remaining half cup of granulated sugar in a small bowl, and put the confectioner's sugar in another small bowl. Use a heaping tablespoon to scoop out the dough and roll the dough into a ball in the palm of your hand. Gently roll the ball of dough in the granulated sugar and then in the confectioner's sugar until coated. Place the dough on your baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake until cookies are cracked and puffed, about 10 to 12 minutes. After you pull them out of the oven, let them cool on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes. Move the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely. Makes about 24 cookies.

Reveiw

This recipe is great for dark chocolate lovers. They are also gooey and delicious. Despite all the sugar that goes into this, it isn't actually that sweet. I like sweeter deserts, so I really like this recipe, however, it is not my favorite. One thing that is awesome about this recipe is that they are so gooey and delicious inside, like melted chocolate.
This recipe is really quite messy, though. Considering all of the sugar that gets thrown around, it gets the table top or counter top you are working on very messy, so you may want to prep your area to make clean up easier.
Well that's all, guys! This is a great recipe for the holidays.

Happy holidays!
